Emily & Jason’s Vintage Inspired Fall Wedding

“I would love for it to feel vintage, laidback, and a little like taking a trip back in time. I’m an old soul.” OMG, when I received this inquiry from our sweet bride Emily, I knew instantly that she and I were soul sisters!! And when she and Jason came in for their consultation, it was confirmed when we ended up talking for over 2 hours!!! You know when spend your time talking about video games, Christmas, and your fur babies, its a match made in heaven!

Emily and Jason’s love story is so incredibly adorable! The first time they met, they didn’t even know each other’s real names! You see, they actually met while playing a video game. Abby and Lyefenth met in Final Fantasy, and after a handful of virtual dates, they decided to meet up in real life! Listening to them talk about their relationship is so sweet and when I asked them how they want to feel on their wedding day, Emily told me she wanted it to feel timeless and feel like they are falling in love all over again… You guys, I just can’t! So romantic!!

Their proposal story is even more so! Like myself, Emily is a huge lover of Christmas! When Jason was ready to propose, he knew Christmas would be the perfect time to do it. Fast forward to Christmas 2017, they decided to travel back to Emily’s hometown in Tennessee to be with her family and on Christmas morning, Jason made his move! After everyone had opened their presents, Jason told Emily he thought he saw one more gift under the tree. As Emily searched for the extra gift, Jason got down on one knee behind her and when she turned around she saw the ring! BEST. CHRISTMAS. GIFT. EVER!

October is one of my favorite months here in Texas. The weather is usually always perfect and fall is just starting to come about with all it’s beautiful colors! The Hidden Gardens Venue in Azle, Texas is the perfect backdrop during this season too! And of course, with all of it’s rich history, it was the perfect setting for Emily’s timeless, vintage feel! We started wedding day off up in the bridal suite with Emily, her mom and step-mom, just hanging out and getting excited for this day! Emily and Jason chose to have a small and intimate day with only their closest friends and family. Instead of a bridal party, Emily’s mom was her Matron of Honor and Jason’s dad was his Best Man! How stinkin’ adorable is that?!?! Have to admit, one of my favorite bridal party ideas, ever!

Just before the ceremony, Jason and Emily had their First Look with each other! Eeeek! This is one of my FAVORITE things on wedding day! Not sure what a First Look is? You can read more about it HERE! Then Emily’s mom got to see them both dressed up for the first time and her reaction was priceless!! After that, we headed down stairs for Bride & Groom portraits and had way too much fun!! Even Jason admitted to having fun during portraits! Score for the wedding photographers!

Ceremony time and I don’t think I’ve seen Jason more excited than when he watched Emily walk down the aisle! After some beautiful words spoken by Jason’s sister, the blessing of the rings and a kiss, Jason and Emily were pronounced husband and wife!! Probably one of the sweetest ceremonies I’ve seen!

As everyone left the ceremony space, everyone grabbed their wine glasses and we headed out front for a few family portraits. Officially my favorite family formal portraits ever, with their wine glasses! Then, with about 45 mins left of golden hour, we did a few more bride and groom portraits before heading in for dinner.

The rest of the night was pure bliss. We had a fantastic dinner, listened to some amazing speeches, cut the cake, and danced the night away! Such a sweet night for an incredibly sweet couple!
