mentoring sessions

for photographers

Being a photographer is the greatest blessing I could have ever asked for! I get to spend every day serving the kindest people and making new friends!

I started this business a little over 5 years ago, and two years in, I realized I was doing it all wrong! I had just attended my very first photography conference and I learned it was time to invest in myself and my business.

hey y'all! i'm courtney — wife, fur-mom, photographer & educator!

fort worth small business

So, I quit my full-time job to pursue my passion of wedding photography

and dedicate all my efforts into learning how to create the best experience for my clients.

That same year I decided to attend a 2-day photography workshop to gain a new insight on the wedding industry, and also invest in a mentor. This was a huge step out of my introverted comfort zone, but I knew if I wanted to succeed, I needed to make that step.

best .decision ever.

now, it's my turn to give back.

Mentoring sessions are great for anyone who is just starting their photography business and wants to make sure they get started on the right foot! I also love helping established photographers who may be struggling to get to that next step in their business!

1 Peter 4:10 says "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."

who is mentoring for?

Community over competition, this is my calling, to serve my couples AND my colleagues. I remember what it was like to feel so confused and defeated at times, with no one there to really tell you what to expect. I don't want that for you! It is my hope that each photographer grow in confidence and love, knowing that each step they take is one step closer to the business they have dreamed of.

what is one-on-one mentoring?

The goal of your session is more than taking your business to the next level. I want you to walk away feeling empowered and filled with purpose.

Whether you just bought your camera or you’ve been a photographer for a few years, I am here to encourage and support you, and give you the resources and knowledge to help you grow your business and reach your goals! I have an "open book policy", which means you can ask me anything you want and I will tell you my experience, my opinion, and my suggestion on it. Every mentor session is tailored to the individual and their specific needs.

Mentoring can take place in person or via Zoom video chat. In-person sessions will take place at my home office in Arlington, TX.

Where will we meet?

Mentoring sessions are available Tuesday through Friday from 9am-8pm. Limited weekend times may be available. Please reach out for availability!

when are you available?

There are two options for mentoring,  hourly meetings or a full day workshop. Hourly meetings are great for photographers who only need help in a few areas of their business. The full day workshop is geared towards newer photographers who are ready to start their business or photographers who may be looking for more advanced help. If you're unsure of which option would be the best option for you, please feel free to fill out the contact form below and let me know what you're looking for!

how is mentoring offered?

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Photography and I've mentored with some of the best wedding photographers in the industry (Luke and Cat, Katelyn James, Hope Taylor, etc.). I've taken numerous courses and mentoring with IPS photographers, so I can assist more than just wedding photographers.

WHAT'S YOUR BACKGROUND?

I hate fluffy education and the word “competition”. I will give exact information and answer every single question without excluding anything to anyone who asks. I will always give them my secrets if I believe it will help them be successful. A rising tide lifts all boats!

what's your approach?

The most amazing thing about businesses are that they are all unique! There is not a "one size fits all" plan when it comes to business strategy. Because of this, I like to keep my sessions simple. You get to choose how much help you want and what you want to learn!

In-Person and Online Mentoring sessions are $125 an hour.

Full Day, One-on-One Workshop is $700 and includes unlimited access to me for 3 months following your workshop.

the investment

You're right! You can totally figure everything out on your own and spend nothing. But will you get it all right the first time? Will you find the answers you need? How long will it take you to do it all yourself?
Mentoring is an investment! I pride myself on being a no-nonsense educator, and I don't take your investment lightly. So, let me explain exactly why mentoring is such a big investment:

running a business is not for everyone. You must be ready to not only invest your money, but also your time, and commit yourself to learning. i will also be investing a lot of my time into your business, so it's not fair to either of us if you aren't committed.

IN MY 4 YEARS OF RUNNING A BUSINESS, I HAVE LEARNED THIS: PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO INVEST IN THINGS THAT MATTER MOST TO THEM. AND, BECAUSE mentoring REQUIRES DEDICATION AND HARD WORK, I WANT TO KNOW THAT EVERY photographer IS READY TO TAKE THAT LEAP AND INVEST IN THEMSELVES and THEIR DREAMS.

My students truly become my full time job. I make myself available to provide quick turnarounds on ALL of your questions and business needs. Want to voice message back and forth to brain dump, Want to have me proofread a tricky email, address a technical problem,
Done, done and done. I intentionally take on less client work during mentoring to allow time for all of my students. So, know that I take your investment seriously.
