Taylor and Brett’s Wedding at The Lone Oak Ranch and Retreat in Gainesville, TX was one we won’t soon forget. We first met Taylor and her sweet friend Meg at the Mid-Cities Bridal Show in Hurst in February. We knew instantly that we were going to love working with these two because all they wanted was a stress-free, fun and effortless wedding day, and we do too!! Taylor brought Brett in to meet us a few weeks later and we all agreed this was a perfect match!

Their love story is so incredibly sweet. They met each other, through work, at a Christmas social with their coworkers. Taylor remembers Brett being very nervous that evening and needed some extra courage to talk to her! Two years later, Brett devised a plan to propose! Taylor’s birthday is just a few days before Christmas, so they decided to celebrate her birthday a month early and invited a few friends to join them. They head out to one of my favorite places, Fredricksburg, Tx, for a fun and relaxing birthday weekend! Now here comes the sweet part… At dinner, they were talking to their friends and discussing their relationship, when all of a sudden Brett pulled out the ring!!!! Taylor and her girlfriend were both crying and everyone was so excited. Taylor would then find out that her friends knew the whole time!!

Taylor and Brett define fun-loving, adventurous, outdoorsy couples in love and this is everything I hope for when I photograph couples. I wish for laughter, and joy, engagement sessions outdoors, and down-to-earth brides with big hearts for the people in their lives. This is Taylor and Brett to a T!

We were outstandingly lucky to have a beautiful summer engagement session in Arlington and their wedding day was even more perfect!

The day started in the cabins on the property where hair and make-up was done, and details were captured! After hair and makeup, Taylor got her dress on with a little help from everyone! She was absolutely stunning!! The Father/Daughter First Look was next and boy was it a good one! When I spoke to her father, right before, he told me he had already done this before so he wasn’t nervous, but I could tell he was so stinkin’ excited! As Taylor came around the corner and tapped him on the shoulder we were holding our breathe to see his reaction… Que the tears y’all!!

The ceremony overlooked the beautiful forest, and a simple cross with floral drap was just perfect for them to make their promise in front of their dearest friends and family. The crowd was in tears as Taylor and her dad came down the aisle, even Brett couldn’t hold back his tears of joy! The ceremony was one of the sweetest I have ever witnessed. I think everyone’s favorite part was the exchanging of the rings! Brett’s young son, JC, was their ring bearer and he had the honor of giving the rings to his dad and soon-to-be mom! Then they all held hands together as we all prayed for their new family and the blessings of their new life together! Well, you know I had a few tears for this, lol!!

After the ceremony we did family formals and a few bride and groom portraits and then it was time to celebrate!! Taylor had been waiting all day to pop open a bottle of her favorite champagne and her sweet friends had it ready for her! We kicked off the reception with the first dance and father/daughter and mother/son dances and then it was nothing but party time for the rest of the night! Everyone had such a great time and there were some crazy dance scenes going on throughout the night! When it was time to say our goodbyes, we were so sad, but we knew this wasn’t the end and wished them happy times for their honeymoon and that we would see them in a few weeks for their Preview Party!!!

Congratulations, Taylor, Brett and JC!!! This journey with you all has been absolutely amazing, and we are so honored to have shared in this incredible time of your lives! We pray for many blessings throughout your marriage and for your new family! Cheers my friends!!
