This day was amazing! And in more ways than one! After having spent the last two months at home and unable to do what I love, Madolyn and Gio’s engagement session was just what I needed to get back into my groove!! We first met Madolyn back in February, at the Mid-Cities Bridal Show. She and Gio, along with Madolyn’s father, came in for a consult that next week and we just fell in love with all of them! Once we made it official, we began planning our favorite thing… The Engagement Session! We scheduled a date for the end of May, but would soon discover that plans may need to change. Luckily, we had scheduled it far enough out that everything ended up working out perfectly!
It wasn’t without it’s challenges though! On Friday, Stephen and I went to scout everything to see what the conditions were like in downtown. Due to the pandemic, most of Sundance Square was shut down, and the Water Gardens had been turned off. But this didn’t dampen our spirits, no sir! We ended up finding the most beautiful place to shoot just on the outside of the square! Madolyn and Gio agreed and that’s where we decided to meet!
How stinkin’ cute are these two?! And Madolyn’s dress!! Doesn’t she look stunning! We were so excited and wanted to make the most of our time in downtown, so we decided to walk a little ways into the square to grab a few “downtown shots” and then we would head back to the main shooting location. Well, to our surprise, they had actually opened Sundance Square! AND we had it all to ourselves! How awesome is that!? We were also lucky enough to come across the Fort Worth Fire Station No.1! Madolyn is a firefighter, so of course, this was absolutely PERFECT for us to find!!
Did I mention the weather was also perfect? Yes, it was hot, LOL, it’s Texas! But every once in a while we had a soft breeze that helped cool us down, and we always keep some water bottles with us! We had gorgeous light the entire time, and as we made our way to Trinity Park for our final skyline shots, we even got a little bit of color in the sunset!
Congratulations on your engagement, Madolyn and Gio! We are so excited to be a part of this special time in your lives and we cannot wait for wedding day next year!!!

[…] We ended May with an absolutely amazing engagement with our sweet couple, Madolyn and Gio! Their wedding will be our first in 2021 and we are beyond excited to begin our wedding season with these two! You can see more from their engagement session HERE! […]
[…] That summer, after “stay-at-home” orders were lifted, we scheduled a date for their engagement session! One of the things we talked a lot about in our consult was how they both felt awkward about taking photos. They hadn’t really had any professional portraits done of the two of them and were worried they wouldn’t be any good at posing. We hear this a lot, luckily we have lots of tips and tricks to help our couples feel good and have fun! One of the things we did was pick a location that they both love and are comfortable with. Downtown Fort Worth was, hands down, the best place and we even found the original fire station while we were down there! Madolyn is a firefighter and we just had to incorporate that into the session as well! After it was all said and done, we had both of them smiling from ear to ear, having way too much fun!
