So you may be thinking, “Why is this so important?”. Well let’s think about it for a second. It’s no secret that weddings are pretty big affairs, even the small ones. They take months, some times over a year of planning, and there are so many things that can go wrong. If you’re looking for a wedding day that goes off without a hitch, and all you have to do is enjoy yourself, then having the right vendors can make all the difference!
There are so many different categories of vendors and while you have your obvious ones, there are several that can easily be missed. Here’s a list of potential vendors that you may need for your wedding day:
I know what you’re thinking, “WOW! That’s A LOT of people to be involved for one day!” You’re exactly right!! All of these vendors work together to create the perfect day for you! But working with that many people can get crazy. Here’s a few tips we always give our couples when choosing their wedding vendors to make sure they create the perfect team for them:
The first thing we suggest is to sit down, TOGETHER, and actually determine what the most important things are for your wedding day. Is is the venue? The dress? The food? The music? The photographs? Pick your top 3 and start researching. We know the budget is a huge factor in choosing your vendors and once you have a better understanding of the services and investment of your top 3, you’ll be able to choose your remaining vendors based on what’s left.
I cannot stress this enough. If the thought of going through countless lists of vendors gives you anxiety, HIRE A PLANNER! Wedding Planners always have a handful of favorite vendors they love to work with, and after an in-depth consultation, he or she will be able to recommend the absolute perfect vendors for you and your vision!
And let’s not forget the other amazing feature of a wedding planner… you don’t have to lift a finger on wedding day! You can actually sit back, relax and enjoy your day while they handle every detail and moment to make your day perfect!
We always tell people, you are going to be spending a lot of time with your vendors during the planning process, and of course the day of the wedding, so you need to make sure you really like them! What sounds better… A bunch of strangers turning up on your wedding day to do stuff or a bunch of trusted friends coming to serve you on the greatest day of your life!?
TRUST is so incredibly important as well. If a bunch of red flags pop up in the beginning and you don’t feel like you can trust them, then don’t hire them. The last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day is whether or not a vendor is doing what they are suppose to be doing.
The best thing is to actually meet the vendors in person. Yes, even with everything that is going on, you should meet in person. There is so much more your can learn from someone when you’re sitting beside them, then when you’re each on the other end of a screen.
