HTP Alumni Retreat Photography Workshop
A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of joining 25 amazing photographers from around the country for the Hope Taylor Photography Alumni Retreat Photography Workshop in Nashville, Tennessee! I have been a “student” of Hope’s for a little over a year, taking her online courses and being involved in her Facebook communities. When I saw that she was opening up her yearly Alumni Retreat to her online students this year I was super stoked!! So I packed my bags and headed out for Nashville!
Everything was simply perfect. We were hosted by the amazing Noelle Nashville, right in the heart of downtown Nashville. You guys, if you are looking for a beautiful, unique place to stay, you have got to check out the Noelle Nashville. I’m still kicking myself for not taking any photographs of the hotel, our rooms and it’s many features (I was so pumped up to get started with our retreat I wasn’t thinking about taking pictures LOL!). So that means you’re just going to have to check it out for yourself! Their staff was so helpful and courteous throughout our stay and their gorgeous ballroom played the perfect part in our beautiful styled shoot.
I am so grateful to have made some amazing new friends from this retreat and to have learned so much, not just from Hope but from everyone involved. It melts my heart to see so many photographers in one room, sharing their stories and encouraging all of us. We are all in different walks of life and have our own challenges, both in life and business, and connecting with one another has been so rewarding. Community over competition, a rising tide lifts all boats.
I want to give a huge shout out to the amazing vendors who helped bring this photography workshop and gorgeous styled shoot to life! Of course to the wonderful Noelle Nashville for providing this breath-taking space! The amazing Mariah of Blush & Crew Wedding Planning & Design did such a wonderful job of coordinating our shoot and helping all of us throughout the day. These florals, that I’m still dying over, were created by Michelle and Laura Beth of Of the Fields Floral Design. The dress…oh that dress! This dress is from the shop of Modern Trousseau Nashville. This fun and colorful invitation suite and drink special sign were created by the immensely talented Kelsey of K.Kelley Designs! And let’s not forget about that cake! Investing in yourself and going to a photography workshop can be one of the hardest things to do. There’s always something else that seems more important to focus on and you can take time out later. Take it from someone who is constantly putting things above herself, it’s so much more rewarding to take the time out and rejuvenate yourself! This retreat came at such a perfect time. I had an amazing experience and the friendships I’ve gained mean so much more to me than getting anything on my to-do list done!
