Our first wedding of 2020 was absolutely perfect! We have been working with Kalee and Hunter since May of last year and every minute of being with these two has been such a joy! At our initial consultation, they told us they were going to have a smaller garden wedding and really just wanted all the moments captured with their closest friends and family. Music to my ears! And when they told us they were getting married at one of our favorite wedding venues, The Hidden Gardens Venue, we were over the moon excited!
I always love hearing our couple’s sweet love stories. They met each other in high school and had a bunch of the same friends but, never really talked! After Kalee moved back home from college, Hunter decided to message her and they finally went on a first date! They’ve been inseparable ever since! Hold on now, because their engagement story is even better! Kalee and Hunter are building their first home together (a tiny house!!) on family property and when Hunter decided to propose, he knew the perfect place would be on their land! They went out one evening and were walking around the site where their house would be built and all of a sudden Kalee turned around to see Hunter down on one knee! Obviously, she said yes!!!
Not long after our first consult, we had Kalee and Hunter’s engagement session! When discussing a location for their session, we ultimately decided to do it at the venue since it’s already beautiful! We had the best time getting to know Kalee and Hunter better as the evening went on, and we knew wedding day was going to be a blast after this! You can see their fun engagement session HERE! Fast forward to March 7th, 2020… Wedding Day!!! The thing about spring time in Texas, it’s always a toss up but thankfully, we had perfect weather for a garden wedding and even a little bit of golden hour despite the clouds! We started the day with hair and make-up for the girls while Stephen and I photographed all their special details! Once Kalee was ready, we had one of my favorite moments, the Father/Daughter First Look! Kalee also had a special gift for her father, custom cufflinks with a picture of her and her rocking horse he made her and the saying “Walk me down the aisle Daddy 3.07.2020”. Cue the tears!!! After that we also did a first look with Kalee’s brother and 90 yr old grandfather! Needless to say, we were in need of a makeup touch up after this was all over!
Kalee and Hunter chose not to have a first look, but decided instead to read personal vows from each other on the balcony. Kalee’s one wish for her big day was to get Hunter to cry. Well, she did it, and we got it on camera!!
The ceremony overlooked the beautiful forest, and a simple cross with floral draped archway was just perfect for them to make their promise in front of their dearest friends and family. Everyone had the biggest smiles on their face as Kalee and her dad came down the aisle. I turned to look at Hunter and he’s got tears in his eyes again! The ceremony was so incredibly sweet, and Kalee and Hunter did the same thing Stephen and I did at our wedding! The braided 3 strands together on a cross, signifying their love and devotion to, not only each other, but to God as well! An exchange of rings and then “I do!” had everyone cheering!! THEY’RE MARRIED!!
After the ceremony we did family formals and bridal party portraits before doing our favorite sunset bride and groom portraits!! After that, it was tome to party!! We kicked off the reception with the first dance and watched as Kalee and Hunter danced together surrounded by their sweet bridal party! After dinner and toasts, we had the father/daughter, mother/son and mother/daughter dances. Everyone had such a great time! We said our goodbyes before their final sweetheart dance, to get set up for their sparkler exit and then watched these two drive off to catch their cruise the next morning! Boy, what a night to remember!!
Congratulations, Kalee and Hunter!!! We are so honored to have shared in this incredible journey and your sweet garden wedding with you both! May God bless you and your marriage for many many years to come! Cheers my friends!!

[…] March brought us our first wedding of year! Kalee and Hunter celebrated with all their friends and family on March 7th. Of course we had no idea what was about to happen the week after. I actually had two sets of friends on cruises that week and they almost didn’t make it off the boats! You can see more from their day HERE! […]
