Taylor & Darrell’s Tangle Ridge Wedding

Taylor and Darrell’s wedding was something special. You see, many many moons ago, Taylor and I met in our First Grade class. We were both very shy, but quickly became friends. We spent most of our childhood together, we were inseparable! That is until life happened and my family moved to another city. Slowly, we drifted apart, as friends sometimes do, but still stayed connected (thanks to social media). Fast forward to last year, when Taylor reached out to me, and she told me she met this guy and they’re getting married! I was so excited to meet up with Taylor and her mom, Amy, to talk about her big day and it was like nothing had even changed! Hours later we were planning the photography timeline for my best friend’s wedding!

These two were surrounded by such amazing family and friends on their wedding day, and there were such sweet moments that stuck out to me as I captured each part of the day. I loved watching Taylor’s sweet mom smile at her while she stood there in her dress for the very first time on her wedding day. I can’t tell you how many times I found myself holding back the tears myself, she was so beautiful and I was so excited for Darrell to see his gorgeous bride!

I loved Taylor and her dad’s first look. She looked amazing and he made sure that she knew it. Her two beautiful sisters were just in awe of how gorgeous she was, and they made her entire day such a celebration!! I always love shooting weddings at locations that hold special meaning for the couple. Even better, this one held special meaning for me as well! As young girls, Taylor and I would drive golf carts around the course, making sure to stay out of trouble 😉 I’m pretty sure that was when I first learned to drive (at the ripe ole’ age of 10 HA!)

However, my favorite part of the day was when Taylor and Darrell surprised everyone by breaking out into a fun and crazy dance during their first dance! Taylor had come to me a few weeks before to tell me of this surprise so that I would be prepared. She was laughing saying they are NOT dancers and this could go terribly wrong, but let me tell you, they KILLED it on the dance floor! They had everyone clapping along and before you knew it the festivities had begun!

As you scroll through this beautiful wedding day, I hope you enjoy this sweet couple as much as we did! Their smiles and their joy are contagious!!! Darrell and Taylor, thank you for including us in your special day! I thank God that he has brought us back together again and I cherish our friendship now more than ever. It was so much fun being with all of you, my original “second family” and celebrating. Here’s to many more years of celebration and friendship!
